Our Craft Lounge Pat the Dog

Happy Saturday, Everyone!! I decided to work on a card using Our Craft Lounge "Pat the Dog"!! I've been working on so many different things that I haven't had the chance to ink up my Our Craft Lounge stamps for the past weeks.

I finally had a chance to ink up the image and finish up the card but now that I look at the card, I should have used a Valentines sentiment.

Not to change the subject but just wondering. . .are you a multi-tasker? I'm a multi-tasker with a single focused mentality. You're saying you can't be a multi-tasker if you can only focus on a single thing at a time. There's the true multi-tasker . . .for example, some mother's can rock their baby's swing with their foot while watching TV and make a card while talking on the phone all at the same time. LOL!! Now that is what you call a multi-tasker.

I'm a multi-tasker in that I'll work on 5 different things but one at a time. For example, I'll fold the laundry and half way through the process, I'll remember that I need to go to the grocery store so I'll change my clothes and get ready to go out but for some reason, I'll step into my craft room and I'll see an image that I stamped so I'll start coloring the image. I'll do it part way and walk out, head to the grocery store, return home and remember that I need to vacuum the house. so I'll start to vacuum.

As I'm vacuuming towards the laundry room, I remembered that I did not finish folding the laundry so I'll stop vacuuming and start to fold the laundry. I'll finish it and decide I'm hungry so I'll eat lunch, watch a little TV and remember that I need to bring the dogs out into the yard. I'll then play with them for a little while then return to the house and walk past my laptop and check my email. I'll check my blog, comment a few people then return and finish off my vacuuming.

You see. . .I can do many things but single focused and quite disorganized. I eventually will complete everything that I'm suppose to do but it comes in different parts and there's time when I don't finish things and everything is half way done. LOL!!

Anyway, back to my card. I colored the image with my Copic Markers and drew the heart flower background and grass and added a bit of SU Crystal Effects. That's about it!!

Stop by Our Craft Lounge and check out their awesome stamp sets.

Well, I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday!! I think we're going to go bowling today instead of Sunday or watch a movie at the theatre. See ya' all later!!

Embossed/Copic Tinted Elegant Image Tutorial

Hiya Everyone!! Remember yesterday I said that I was going to create an elegant card? Well, here's my elegant card. I had bought this really cute cube stamp that has 4 images on a square cube months ago and never used it. Well, last night I decided to ink it up. . .finally! LOL!

I thought embossing the image would be really nice so I embossed it and colored the image using my Copic Markers rather than just embossing it.

I created a short tutorial on how I did it. I mean it's simple but if you need instructions scroll down and check out the tutorial.

I didn't know what to title my tutorial so I just called it "Embossed/Copic Tinted Elegant Image".

I found this cute button in my scrap box and I thought it would go perfect with the embossed design.

Not much chit-chatting today. . .I need to pick up my daughter from school soon so I'll save my chit-chat for tomorrow.

Card Details:

Stamps: Stampendous Tiled Quad Cube, Heidi Grace, Fiskar clear stamps
Paper: SU Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel
Ink: Copic markers, Versamark
Accessories: Gold embossing powder, Joanns scrap essential, organdy ribbon, button (?)

Embossed/Copic Tinted Elegant Image Tutorial

Materials

1 Very Light Shade Copic Markers (E02)
1 Medium Shade Copic Marker (RV42)
Neutral Card Stock (Creamy Caramel)
Versamark Ink or Embossing ink
Gold Embossing Powder (or any color desired)
Heating Tool
Elegant/Swirl Rubber Stamp

Stamp the image on to a neutral card stock using Versamark or Embossing ink

Apply embossing powder to the image and heat emboss the image. Metallic colored embossing powder works really nicely with elegant or swirl images

Using the lighter shade Copic Marker (E02), color the whole image

With the medium shade Copic Marker (RV42), shade parts of the image.

When you're done, parts of the image are shaded as shown in the picture

Run the edge of your card stock on to the Versamark ink (similar to swiping your credit card through a machine), apply the embossing powder, and heat it with a heating tool. This will give a subtle embossed frame around the image

This completes this tutorial. Design your card as desired.

My Little Helper

Meet my little helper. . .Roomba! (Robotic vacuum) LOL! Seriously. . .he helps me out a lot. Without him, our house would be a little bit dustier, our floor a bit dirtier, and with his help every other day at 9:00 am (he is scheduled to work at that time), he has kept my floor clean. I have major allergies and he has been so helpful. Because he turns on all by himself, goes on his merry way and vacuum the house and returns to his charger all by himself, I don't have to think about it. We have two of these little helpers, one upstairs and one downstairs. You're like. . .sheesh, Maria are you that lazy? LOL! No. . .I vacuum regularly the normal way but Roomba maintains our carpet and wood floor.

Roomba is forbidden to enter my craft room. It's a hazard zone and detrimental to his health. I have too many little things on the floor. . .ribbons, card stock, beads that sometimes makes him sick so he can't vacuum my craft room! LOL! Do any of you have a Roomba? Isn't he a sweetheart or what?!

LOVE My Pink Cat Stamps - Challenge and Contest

Hi Friends!! Pink Cat Studio has a challenge and contest in progress!! It started today and will end February 10th!! Scroll down for all the yummy details!! I decided to participate in the challenge and created this Square Coat Card. I created a tutorial for this card yesterday. . .Click Here for the Tutorial.

I used my Pink Cat Studio "Lily Billy Sweethearts" stamp set. The 4 elements of my card spells "LOVE" (you'll understand what I'm talking about when you read the challenge details)

Okay. . .here are my four elements:

L - Lace
O - Oval
V - Valentines
E - Embellishment

Not very original but I tried! LOL!! I colored Lily with my Copic Markers and while making this card, I was channeling "Markie's Mom" with all the dots!! LOL! Seriously. . .I thought of her when I was drawing the dots on my card.

I decided to add that swirly thing sorta last minute. . .what do you think? Does it enhance or make my card look gaudy? I guess it depends on your perspective, huh!!

Anyway, hope you all will stop by PCP Pink Cat Studio Group Site and play along!! You may win a yummy prize!!

Card Details:

Stamps: Pink Cat Studio Lily & Billy Sweethearts, Autumn Leaves
Paper: Prima Inc., SU Berry Bliss, Rose Red

Sweet Spring Card

Hello Friends!! Just a card I created! Ummm, yah. . .LOL! Of course it's a card you created, Maria! Silly.
No, I did not draw the bench this time around but I did draw the grass, little flowers and butterfly! You should try drawing stuff yourself. It's just doodling stuff. . .you don't have to be a good drawer or anything like that. It's just fun to add your own scenery!

Anyway. . .I had fun creating this card. The image is Magnolia . . .darn I don't know the name of the stamp. .. the stamp is downstairs in the family room. Anyway, check out Jen's store "Little C's Stamps n' Things" and you can find a whole buttload of Magnolia stamps. I got this stamp from her store.

I colored my image using my Copic Markers and added a bit of stickles to the wings of the butterfly and the girl image.

The designer paper is also from Little C's! I thought the paper matched so nicely with the colors of my image. Because the dp is already all by itself. . .I didn't add more to my card except the "All Natural Accents" flowers. . .again from LIttle C's, the ribbon, paper clip, and sentiment.

You're like. . .that's a lot. . .well, trust me I could have added more but I didn't want to go overboard! KWIM?

Anyway, I hope you all have a fabulous day!!

Card Details:

Stamp: Magnolia, Fiskar clear stamps (sentiment)
Paper: From Little C's (don't know the brand name)
Ink: Copic Markers, SU Blue Bayou
Accessories: All Natural Accents, Paper clip, Satin ribbon (?), Hemp cord, Provocraft Scallop Scissors, Coluzzle Circle Template

Not So Perfect Form

On Sunday we went bowling. . .we wanted to go "Cosmic Bowling" but it was too crowded. We decided to return and bowl when the crowd died down a bit but Cosmic Bowling was already over. Shucks! I love Cosmic Bowling.

Sorry for the picture of my behind and worse, not in perfect form! Argggh!! I actually bowl sort of weird. I tend to bend down real low when I throw the ball. I didn't do to well this week. I only bowled a 99. My daughter, believe it or not, had 4 strikes in one round. I was impressed. Anyway. . .we had a fun time bowling. You should try it. . .bring your kids. It's a fun family activity. . .bring them to Cosmic bowling if your bowling alley has it. . .your kids will love it!!

InStyle Method Monday Challenge - Square Coat Card Tutorial

Hi Everyone!!! It's Method Monday Challenge time again at InStyle Stamps!! Whoohoo! This week is my turn to create a tutorial so it would be fabulous if you all play along!!

I decided to use an old tutorial I created over a year ago but an updated version of it using InStyle Stamps!! Yay!!

This week's Method Monday tutorial is a "Square Coat Card". Basically, it's a gate fold type of card with a twist. . .a "coat" wraps around the base card and closes with a ribbon at the center!! For my card, I decided to use my "Pam and Buster" image because Pam is gorgeous and Buster. . .well, he is adorable. I colored my image and my background using my Copic Markers.

Anyway, stop by InStyle Stamps blog! To play along, post a comment on the InStyle posting of this tutorial with the link to the picture of your card from your blog site, SCS photo, PCP photo, or photo album. If you're uploading your card at PCP, tag it with "InStyle" or "ISSMM1-26" so it'll be easy to find.

You don't have to use InStyle stamps to play. . .just follow the challenge! Have fun!!

Hope you try it out. . .don't forget to scroll down for the tutorial!!

Check out the other cards by the InStyle Design Team:

Square Coat Card Tutorial

Materials
5 x 10" card stock folded in half to create a 5 x 5" card base
5 1/2 x 9 1/2" card stock for the outer coat
2 x 11 1/4" strip scrapbook or patterned paper
Round corner punch (optional)
1/2" circle punch (optional)
1/8" circle punch
Scorer
Ribbon
Glue or double sided tape
Card fits into a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2" square envelope

Score the 5 x 10" card stock at 5" to create a 5 x 5" square card base
To create the "outer coat", score down the 5 1/2 x 9 1/2"card stock at 2" on the 9 1/2" side. Score on both ends of the card stock.

This will create a flap on both ends of the "coat".

Optional

Punch the corners of your card base, "coat" and 2 x 11 1/4" strip of designer paper

Adhere the 2 x 11 1/4" designer paper centered on to the "coat".

Optional

To create a "washer", punch a card stock with the 1/2" circle punch. Punch two circle shapes.

Fold the "coat" at the score line, the center strip should be centered at the front of your card Adhere the circle card stock to the ends of the 2 x 11 1/4" strips as shown in the picture
As an option, rather than creating a washer, you may use a large brad

Optional

Punch a hole through the center of the washer using a 1/8" hole puncher

Your washers should appear as shown in the picture

Decorate your 5 x 5" card base as desired
Adhere the 5 x 5" card to the "coat" centered as shown in the picture

Thread a ribbon through the front strip as shown in the picture

Tie a bow. This completes the "Square Coat Card"
